To show my love for family members, I create event-specific cards. These cards often feature animals holding cards containing the message. I use colored pencils to intensify the watercolor at points where I feel the paint can’t be as precise such as the hats for the penguins and the suction cups on the octopus. Additionally, I add subtle shadows behind the illustrations to give the creatures a place to occupy within the white space of the page.
